Developer Wildcard Studios on Monday announced an open-world dinosaur game called Ark: Survival Evolved, and the first trailer does not disappoint. Take a look at the impressive video below, showing off the game's varied environments, combat mechanics, fantasy elements, and all manner of wild creatures.
Survival Evolved is currently in development for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. An in-development version of the PC edition will debut in June on Steam as an Early Access title.
Survival Evolved runs on Unreal Engine 4, and Wildcard says the footage in the new trailer is taken from "live online gameplay." The game will also support mods on PC, Wildcard explained on Facebook.
"As a man or woman stranded naked, freezing and starving on the shores of a mysterious island called ARK, use your skill and cunning to kill or tame & ride the leviathan dinosaurs and other primeval creatures roaming the land," a description reads. "Hunt, harvest resources, craft items, grow crops, research technologies, and build shelters to withstand the elements, while teaming up with or preying upon hundreds of other players to survive, dominate... and escape!"
Not much else is known about the title just yet, though it's apparently a PvP-focused enterprise. We'll bring you more on the exciting title as we get it but, for now, check out the initial gameplay trailer below.
